Mehiel Creative = the art direction and graphic design studio of Monica Mehiel. Located in San Francisco, California. Full of plants and coffee.
Monica works with brands of all sizes to craft and actualize their creative vision. She has a knack for discovering what makes a brand unique and celebrating that through fresh and impactful visual communication that resonates with people. Monica brings a mix of curiosity, empathy and cultural awareness to all projects and loves collaborating with bold brands who strive to make a positive impact on people, systems and our planet.
Monica is available for remote freelance projects. Let’s talk!
Monica’s 15 years of professional experience covers a lot of ground, as her creativity thrives when presented with new experiences. She has spent time with in-house creative teams at Sephora, The RealReal, Salesforce and ShopStyle. She has also worked agency-side to help ideate on and execute successful projects for brands like Sundance, Thermos, The North Face and Head & Shoulders.
Variety is the spice of life, and Monica is always looking for a new flavor profile. Many of Monica’s clients are established businesses of all sizes who are stuck in a rut and need a creative lead to bring a fresh perspective to a big marketing campaign or a brand overhaul at scale. Other clients are small businesses who are looking to enter the market with a bang. Monica offers pro bono creative consulting to early stage nonprofits that align with her values. She also mentors young designers at the start of their careers.
When offline, Monica loves spending time soaking up the sun. She finds gardening, hiking, and lazing around in a hammock or a large body of water all perfectly enjoyable. On rainy days she’ll find a tedious craft or a sewing project to fill her time. Lifetime obsessions that continue to inspire her are the NBA, old episodes of The Twilight Zone and Twin Peaks, fashion, and film production design. Monica lives in the SF Bay Area with her husband and daughter.
